Robert “Bo” Gutzwiller

President

Robert Gutzwiller serves as President of FCS Educational Foundation and the Head of School at Foothill Christian School. Mr. Gutzwiller has led FCS through five accreditation visits and championed program growth to include a junior high program from just two self-contained classrooms to one that instructs 145 students with classes in advanced placement math, Spanish and over 25 elective course offerings. His passion for excellence has been a driving force for significant expansion in the area of technology, athletics and library services, as well as the creation of a Fine Arts Department complete with signature programs in orchestra, band, art and theatre.

Mr. Gutzwiller has served the private educational school community in a variety of capacities, including twelve years as an adjunct professor in the Graduate School of Education at Azusa Pacific University, three years as the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) District Representative, two terms on the ACSI Regional Council, and he has served as the Chairman of the ACSI Commission on Accreditation which serves over 5,500 Christian schools and 5 million students worldwide. His involvement with the international accreditation program has taken him to school site visits in Malaysia, Cambodia, Japan and Singapore. Mr. Gutzwiller currently serves as Chairman of the ACSI Executive Board.

Zack Grelling

Director of Advancement

Zack Grelling serves as Director of Advancement for the FCS Educational Foundation. As the foundation’s Director of Advancement, Mr. Grelling provides administrative oversight for major organizational giving through the United Way, Edison International, Northrop-Grumman, 3-M Foundation, Wells Fargo, Johnson and Johnson, and Toyota Sales U.S.A. Other duties are grant writing, management of Corporate Sponsorships and Foundation support. Major supporters include: America’s Christian Credit Union, Olley Foundation and Family Unity Foundation.

With two sons attending Foothill Christian School, Mr. Grelling is personally invested in surpassing the success of . Prior to joining Foothill Christian School in 2019, Mr. Grelling served the communities in and around Glendora on the pastoral leadership team at Grace Church of Glendora for 12 years.

Jeremiah “Jerry” Kitchel

Secretary of Board

Jerry’s affiliation with Foothill Christian School began in 1976 when his wife, Carolyn, began teaching at the Grand Avenue Campus. At that same time, the couple became members of Foothill Christian Center, subsequently named Foothill Church under the leadership of Pastor Chris Lewis. Carolyn later became Vice Principal of the school until her retirement in 2016. 

For over 35 years, Jerry’s career in nonprofit work has included assignments with World Vision, Union Rescue Mission, Open Doors U.S.A., and a number of others where he held various senior positions in marketing, advancement and communication. From 2006 to 2018, he served as Foothill Christian School’s Director of Advancement.

In a shared vision with Foothill Christian School Superintendent, Bo Gutzwiller, Jerry helped pioneer the FCS Educational Foundation in 2014, a 501 (c) (3) charity. A principle motivation for the foundation was to garner support with the intent of strengthening many Foothill Christian School programs and services through financial grants.  Additionally, the foundation has been responsible for funding classroom and campus-wide improvements and upgrades. 

Today, Jerry is a member of the senior leadership team of Africa HEART (Health Education for Africa Resource Team), a ministry committed to helping improve the health and wellbeing of HIV-positive mothers and their dependents throughout Kenya.

Ebenezer “Ebe” Puplampu

Ebenezer Puplampu is a seasoned human resources and organizational effectiveness practitioner with cross-cultural experience in more than 20 countries on all 7 continents. Ebe enjoys building faith-integrated environments where Christ-centeredness is the guiding value and Christ-actualization is the ultimate goal. As a board member, Ebe has served the mission of FCS Educational Foundation with humility, leadership and focus.

Jonathan Krellwitz

Jonathan Krellwitz has worked in the financial industry for nearly 20 years. As a managing partner with Krellwitz, Kurimoto & Associates, he enjoys building relationships with clients while guiding them through all of life’s stages and changes. As a board member, Jon has served the mission of FCS Educational Foundation with excellence, financial expertise, and great attention to detail.
